Very Big Results

The Big Red Envelope

We had been asked to work on a two-tiered direct mail campaign for CHS Inc., a Fortune 500 agribusiness, food supply, farm supply, fuel and lubricant conglomerate. This project had been produced for several seasons before it was presented to The Carney Group.
The promotion's two levels requires some explanation. First, the salespeople needed to identify their leads in an on-line database. For this each salesperson would participate in a generous portion of the rebates paid to sales leads that converted to customers.
These new customers would save receipts from diesel fuel or lubricants and submit them for generous rebates. Before our involvement the salespeople produced very few leads and nearly none of those leads were converted to customers.
The decisions of the marketing staff at CHS and the strategy, design, copy writing and photography of The Carney Group increased the sales lead submissions ten times and their conversion to customers by 500%.
The final tally the Double Duty Rewards program was 50 times as successful. It's a long story. Send us an email. We'd love to tell you the whole story then figure out how to do it for your company.

Expect the Unexpected

TREMENDOUS ENTERTAINMENT WEBSITE

Expect the Unexpected

We agree. Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern is tremendous. At the new Tremendous Entertainment website Mr. Zimmern and his expansive palate are featured prominently on the home page and within the Now Showing section.
Television personality, Colleen Needles Steward walked away from the front of the camera as the news anchor of a CBS affiliate to start a video production company. Some might call that “gutsy.” Colleen called it “Tremendous.”
With offices in Burbank California and Eden Prairie Tremendous Entertainment travels the world to bring you the beautiful, the bizarre, the educational, the touching and the tremendous. You’ll find beautiful sunsets, ferocious beasts, crawly bugs, cultures from around the world, and gardens from down the street. Tremendous Entertainment specializes in telling extraordinary stories from around the world. Their motto is Expect The Unexpected. When you spend as much time in the real world as they do, many of the best moments are unplanned and no one captures them better than the Tremendous staff and crew.
While it’s hard to expect what you’ll find on the Tremendous Entertainment website you can expect it to be enlightening, uplifting and educational.

When is a house not a house?

When it's ipHouse

When is a house not a house?

These veterans of the internet universe wanted to modernize their look, but keep their name. "Oh, by the way, we don't want a house image in the logo." Yeah, yeah, they had heard all the grade school jokes available for just the slightest twist to their name.
Breakfast meetings in the ipHouse meeting room overlooking The Minneapolis Hotel zeroed in on zero and one—the essence of digital information. To soften the look a bit the zero one one were depicted as two compressions of the same oval. A professional look for the consummate internet pros.

His mind’s eye sees and understands the idyllic complete form of a painting. This painter's website fulfills one of the admonitions that Pat Carney always gives college design and art students who are preparing their portfolios. "Make your portfolio full of art a work of art itself." This artist portfolio website is a pretty as the paintings it presents. What more can you say but, "how pretty."

Codeweavers Dresses Up MacWorld

Codeweavers got a boost from The Carney Group to rank 'Top 3 Happening Booths' at MacWorld 2011. Okay, it helped that COO Jon Parshall and CEO Jeremy White donned dresses and high heels to pitch their new software, IMPERSONATOR. David Pogue of the New York Times called it “hilarious,” and one of the most creative pitches he’d seen all year.

We delivered a product name and logo that resonated with their market and gave them a great platform to tout it.

There is Nothing The Carney Group Likes Better than REALLY BIG HEADLINES!

There is Nothing The Carney Group Likes Better than REALLY BIG HEADLINES!

When The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota came to us because they had decided to replace the trucks they used to pick up clothing donations we got that thrilled feeling we get every time someone asks us to write a very big headline. It's a wonderful feeling that comes over us every time we are asked to set type with letters larger than our heads.
It's not as easy as spelling everything correctly. First, you need to have something to say. The less we say the bigger the letters can be.
THIS TRUCK CONTAINS TWO TONS OF HOPE.
Sometimes a great headline deserves its own website.

Moody but beautiful paintings from Luke Hillestad

Moody but beautiful paintings from Luke Hillestad

When you produce work for people's businesses you become an expert on some part of their business. Making e-invitations and brochures for Flanders Art Galleries introduced us to the artists in upcoming exhibitions.

Ever since the first time we saw Luke Hillestad's moody Flemish influenced canvases we were intrigued. We think it's interesting that the man behind these dark works is a very cheery fellow. His wonderful work remains on display at Rogue Buddah Galley Through May 5th 2012, http://www.gutofart.com.

When Codeweaver decided to rebrand their "run Windows software on Mac" software we wanted to design a logo with legs. It's got legs, all right, and wigs, funny hats, capes, swords and bustiers.

It impersonates Windows on your Mac. What you see is what you get.

Celebrate the Top Of Your Head

Celebrate the Top Of Your Head

It's a Chapeau Celebration; a Beret Blast; a Tamoshanter Tarantella; a Stetson Soiree; a Boller Ballyhoo and a Fedora Fiesta—Celebrating the Top of our Heads.

This is the time of the year when we really appreciate the covering on our heads. Not only are they a source of pride to wearers and envy to others at the bus stop. Each is a symbol of who we are and what we think.

Your hat is a visible story about you.
